A note to our friends and subscribers,
As we near the end of our first season of COI, we wanted to say thank you to you, our subscribers, for helping to build our project in its inaugural year. We decided early on that we did not want to paywall any of the work the artists and writers we worked with created for us. Whether you subscribed last year or last week, your contribution generously helped support that aim.
It also helped us pay our writers well above industry standard. Like many of you, we have worked in various creative roles across the arts sector, and know that our work is often undervalued and under-compensated. We wanted to make sure the people we worked with were paid well—paid fairly—for the work they did. Thank you for helping us achieve that goal.
We are working on Season Two of COI as we speak, and after some thoughtful feedback and careful reflection, we have decided to make a change to our support model going forward. Starting in Season Two, our subscription model will be replaced by donation model. We want to make supporting the project as accessible as possible, while still maintaining our values and the values we’ve instilled in COI.
We will be removing the subscription option from our website and will not be taking any donations until Season Two launches.
Thank you for supporting our project and our incredible team of creatives. It means the world to us.
We are excited to share the rest of Season One with you, and look forward to all that lies ahead.
